Designstorm is the concept of owner Owen Twitchell. Owen is a professional ski bum with 25 years of skiing, snowboarding and bartending experience but no formal training in design. Twitchell sees this as a distinct advantage. With only the broadest guidelines gleaned from writings by the likes of Leonardo DaVinci and Buckminster Fuller he feels that his designs are free from conventional technical inhibitions. Owen's designs stem from countless days of skiing, snowboarding,mountain biking and paragliding. By observing the evolution of the equipment used in these sports Owen has developed a "feel" for what works and what doesn't. The company name DesignStorm refers to his philosophy of uninhibited creativity when approaching design projects.
